Energy-efficient buildings are a central factor for the success of the energy transition. To build or renovate energy-efficiently, extensive technical requirements of the Building Energy Act (GEG) have to be met. Due to the uniqueness of each building and the complexity involved in the planning and construction process, it is necessary to identify and assess energy-saving potential individually and comprehensively.

To support this process, Energy Efficiency Experts, qualified consultants with proven expertise, can guide projects related to energy-efficient new construction, renovation, or specific modernization measures – from detailed planning to project acceptance. These experts are part of a central, nationwide database for qualified professionals initiated by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA), and KfW.

With his commitment and advanced qualifications in the field of energy-efficient construction and renovation, Professor Schäfer was recently included in the Energy Efficiency Expert List of the German Energy Agency (dena). He specializes in energy consultancy for residential buildings. In numerous teaching activities, especially in the field of “Green Building”, Professor Schäfer has focused on the relevant topics of energy efficiency in connection with conceptual, planning, constructional, and design-related aspects of construction for many years.
