Freehand Drawing Excursion to Heppenheim

2026/07/10 by

On July 7, as part of the Freehand Drawing course, an excursion was held to the historic old town of Heppenheim. The aim of the excursion was to explore and document the town's distinctive architecture, public spaces, and unique atmosphere through on-site sketching.

The students produced sketches of the half-timbered houses, squares, and narrow streets while engaging closely with proportions, perspective, and spatial relationships. Working outdoors provided an opportunity to apply the drawing techniques and fundamental principles introduced in the course, while further developing their observation skills and attention to architectural detail.

The excursion not only served as a valuable practical complement to the course but also encouraged professional exchange and collaborative learning in an inspiring setting.
