We are thrilled to announce that students from KGBauko Institute have achieved remarkable recognition at the Unite! Seed Fund Poster Competition, titled “Draw Your Vision of Our Sustainable Future!”. All four of our submissions were recognized, earning four of the nine prizes awarded in total.

This Europe-wide competition invited bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. students to present innovative solutions for a sustainable future. Participants tackled pressing global challenges through topics such as energy-focused architectural design, green buildings and health, low-carbon demonstration projects, and sustainable building methods, all aligning with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The winning submissions from KGBauko Institute were developed from part of various teaching modules and research activities led by Prof. Stefan Schäfer and M.Sc. Le Thi Kieu. These include:

A master thesis by Diego Andrade on the cooling effects of green facades in different climates,

A study by Dominik Misztal (Green Building Design II) on the optimal potential of PV-module usage on building façades,

A study by Layal Samaan (Green Building Design II) on the serial refurbishment approach in Germany,

A design project by Johannes Lobert (Green Building Design I) on a passive lakehouse at Bodensee.

The prizes were evaluated by an esteemed international jury of professors and will be officially announced during the on-site presentations in January at Politecnico di Torino, Turin. We are incredibly proud of our students’ outstanding contributions to the global conversation on sustainability and eagerly await the final prize announcements. Stay tuned for updates!
